The first Burda pattern I made I was just about to cut into the fabric (rotary cutter was poised and ready for business) and I looked and thought it was awfully small and remembered that Burda doesn't have seam allowances. Now I trace all my patterns (even envelope ones because I often make them in multiple sizes for me and my sister) and I have to remember to NOT add seam allowances to those.T. Far out. I hope when I finally get over my annoyance at myself for that, that my dress will look half as good as yours! I'm loving the little cap shoulder sleeves too :)poppykettlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05089242289854891320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5286753599148728267.post-36873592282972738622012-02-26T01:24:33.209-08:002012-02-26T01:24:33.209-08:00Just perfect for a LBD! I am thinking about making another one, but those cotton fabrics you mentioned are actually really thin, probably too thin for this dress (even if I underline and line them). I actually have a lot of a slightly heavier teal stretch poplin (which I am also going to use for my sewing challenge blazer jacket), which I considering using for a second version of this dress. I want to wait until after I make my jacket (to see how much is left), but there is a very real possibility you might see more versions of this dress in the future. And now I will probably be keeping my eye out for some suitable purple fabric too...T. I don't know why (maybe because of your potential shirt fabrics) but I think you should make another one - in purple, or a very dark pink.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
