Newsflash: Summer Vogue Patterns

The string of new pattern releases continues - the new summer Vogue patterns can be seen here. Overall I have to say I'm not really loving this year's patterns - everything has gone to much simpler and more voluminous styles; not really my favorite flavor of ice cream.  Usually the designer Vogue patterns have some interesting details that I gravitate towards, but I'm not really finding much that I love this time around.  The one pattern I'm really liking from this release is a Rebecca Taylor design:

V1446 - Rebecca Taylor.  Love the neckline, the pockets, the silhouette.

And the back!  Swoon.

V1447 - Tracy Reese.  I like this dress, but not enough that I really want to make it.

V1444 - DKNY.  The idea for this dress is interesting, but I don't think it translates well.

The line drawing looks cool, but on the model it looks very blocky and sort of awkwardly fitted.

V1445 - Pamella Roland - I feel like this is the sort of dress that looks like
a summer nightshirt in the photo, but someone will make it and style it super cute
and will look really awesome for the summer season.

V1448 - DKNY.  This dress is sort of cute and flirty, but the skirt isn't
something I'm very interested in wearing myself.
The ruffle trend seems to be extending from the recent Burda preview though.
Ruffles = the new peplum?

V1451 - Donna Karen.  I'm sort of liking this in an odd intellectual way.
It's interesting, and sort of different, but, I'm also not totally in love with the way the top hangs?
I'm a bit torn I guess.  I sort of want to see if anyone in the sew-o-sphere makes it up.

Also - more ruffles!

V1450 - Guy Laroche.   Not loving the boxy top on this one.

V1449 - Rebecca Taylor.  Again, boxier than the styles I prefer.
Probably a lot shorter than I'd be comfortable wearing as well.

V1454 - DKNY.  Another boxy top.  Meh.  The skirt is similar to other patterns I've seen.

V1452 - Today's Fit by Sandra Betzina. I actually rather like the top.
The pants are an odd length - not quite long, but not really culottes either. 

V9099 - A classic Claire Shaeffer blazer.

V1453 - Today's Fit by Sandra Betzina.  The only thing I can think is that
those pockets would be a really good place to carry Jelly Babies.

V9114 - Kathryn Brenne.  Interesting shaping of the skirt.

V9100 - Very Easy Vogue Custom Fit.
Nice summer dress, but nothing new or exciting.

V9102 - This dress is pretty simple, but the use of stripes makes it fairly striking.

V9103 - Vogue Easy Options.  Another simple dress that would be nice for summer.

V9107 - I actually like this design, but I also know it would not look
particularly good on me.  Not something for my collection,
but I'm hoping to see others make this one up sometime soon.

V9108 - Marcy Tilton.  The fabric is a bit much, bit the dress looks pretty wearable.

V9112 - Marcy Tilton.  I'm always intrigued by the shaping of these patterns,
but, again, not something I think I'd regularly wear.

V9117 - Five Easy Pieces.  Actually rather like this wardrobe pattern -
looks easy to make and easy to mix and match pieces.

Also, this fabric - I want some.

V9116 - Very Easy Vogue. Normally I'm not into the jumpsuits, but this one I want to make.

V9121 - Elizabeth Gillete NYC.  Actually think a lot of these shrugs/wraps/cardigans
are pretty cute.  Good for layering over lightweight summer tops.

V9115 - Very Easy Vogue.  Kimono jacket/robe tops.
Cute, but I think they've had better variations in the past.

V9104 - Very Easy Vogue.  This could be a nice dress for summer.

V9101 - Very Easy Vogue.  Another basic dress that could
be nice for a summer wardrobe.

V9110 - Very Easy Vogue top.
Sort of dull, possibly could be cute?
I want to see a real life version.

V9111 - Very Easy Vogue.  I feel like McCall's already did something similar, but better.

This variation feels very 80s.

V9109 - Very Easy Vogue Custom Fit.  Pretty basic.

V9113 - Very Easy Vogue.  Basic skirt, but, kind of cute.

V9105 - Vintage Vogue.  I actually love the button front top detail.

V9106 - Vintage Vogue.  The skirt has an interesting gather detail.

V9120 - Kathryn Brenne.  This bag looks cool, practical, and easy to sew.

The accordion bag is a bit odd looking though.

Overall, I'm a bit meh over this collection.  There are a few patterns I really like (1146 especially), but on the whole everything feels sort of repetitive, or it just isn't my aesthetic.  I've not been super excited by many of the pattern releases so far this year, from any of the brands, so I'm just going to accept that 2015 isn't going to be my style year.  What do you all think?  See anything super exciting?  Feel free to discuss in the comments!
