My Image is one of the newer European sewing magazines, so I don't know how many people are die-hard followers as of yet. I was lucky enough to get the first three issues from my sister when she came back from Europe for the holidays. I haven't made anything as of yet, but I must say that their coats look fabulous. I tend to be more excited by their Fall/Winter issues, but they do have a few cute dresses and tops. You can browse the latest issue of the magazine
here.

Another simple dress, but I like it. |

I also like this cute summer jacket. |
Also, the producers of My Image magazine will be releasing their own pattern line, Imagewear Patterns, in March. Should be interesting to see what they come up with. In the meantime, I will have to test out some of the My Image patterns for myself.
Has anyone else tried the My Image patterns? I know that the M1005 top has been quite popular on Pattern Review, but I was wondering if anyone has tried any of their more complicated patterns? It seems the longer I look at their designs, the more I find I like, so I am thinking I will (possibly) be making quite a few of the My Image patterns up in the near(-ish) future.
I hadn't heard of this magazine before but I've now ordered the back issues and signed up for a subscription for the year. I really liked at least one thing in each mag (and more than one in a couple) and each mag only costs about the same price as a single pattern does here in the UK so I think it's a worthwhile investment.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree that the price is quite reasonable, and I really like the fact that you can still order the older issues of the magazine, as some of my favorite pieces are in the first issue (Fall/Winter 2010/2011). And I love the look of their coats and jackets - stylish but practical.
Delete16 patterns for €4,95 or $9.95?? That's very cheap if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteI also ordered a copy and got in 4 days. Nice magazine, very different/more appealing style than some magazines over here... Thanks for the tip! ;-)
